Klara at the Ben & Jerry's Factory in Waterbury, VT - October 1st, 2014
This just a quick post with some memories from 2014 because I recently stumbled across these really cute old pictures of Klara which I wanted to share.

When Klara was little I would often go for a drive with her while she napped. Usually, those drives would not take us much beyond the immediate vicinity of Ludlow, but on some occasions, we ventured a little further. On October 1st, 2014, I decided to visit the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory since I had never been there and I used the morning nap time to drive the 2 hours from Ludlow to Waterbury, Vermont, with Klara.
My guess is that Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream is probably the most famous international export from Vermont, that and maybe Burton snowboard gear, but that's only known in specific circles. Vermont has a special place in the history of snowboarding, thanks to Jack Burton, and Stratton Mountain being the first resort to allow snowboarders on its slopes in 1983.
In Waterbury, Klara and I toured the factory and tasted a few flavors of ice cream. At the time Cherry Garcia was the most popular flavor, but I understand that it has been replaced by Half Baked by now. In our household, The Tonight Dough is number one!

After all that delicious ice cream we headed back in the direction of Ludlow down I-89 and of course, Klara probably had a little snooze. About halfway home, roughly where I-89 and I-91 meet, is the town of Hanover in New Hampshire, home of the famous Ivy League University, Dartmouth College, and one of our favorite restaurants, Molly's, which Matt had introduced us to. Klara and I stopped here for a little lunch.

After lunch, Klara performed a little dance on a bike rack in the streets of Hanover.

Finally, we made out way home. It was just one of so many fun days out with my favorite kid!
